I wanted to make a piece that celebrates what I find so special about the area I call home. The reason behind the cow sitting amongst the stone circle was to highlight both the agricultural and rural beauty that is so seamlessly interwoven throughout the Lakes and wider Cumbria. I used patterned fabrics for the background elements so they contrasted against the more realistic foreground pieces. I then used the French knots and Bullion stitches for the moss on the rocks to bring in some texture and depth.
