The piece was inspired by two separate chance encounters Hayden and Juliet experienced whilst walking on the Cumbrian fells during lockdown.
They both spotted two heart-shaped foil balloons drifting across the landscape.
A sublime and glittering sign from the beyond.
Klottrup and Thorpe had been wanting to collaborate with music and film for a while and when these serendipitous moments occurred, they decided to start there.
Each scene in the film is laced with symbolism; love letters to the sense of place, that has been a continuous source of wonder and inspiration. The locations range from a re-wilded fellside, to a tarn, an old colliery village to Kendal Town.
Hayden’s song ‘Golden Ratio’ is from his newly released album ‘The Universe is Always Right’. Says Hayden: “‘Golden Ratio’ was the first thing I wrote for the album. It’s a devotional song about the enormous love we infinitesimal beings have within us.’
